Most castles, originally planned for protection against invaders from the East, were transformed into splendid Renaissance or baroque châteaux.

The region formerly known as the fence around the court of the Holy Roman Empire nowadays offers unique opportunities for mental and physical relaxation. Over centuries l’art de vivre has developed along the Schlösserstraße, here it is not a recent discovery.
